Detective

In post-war Moscow, an unknown gang attacks lonely passers-by. One of the victims of the raiders was a retired lieutenant colonel of the NKVD. The bandits brutally killed him and robbed him clean. MUR detectives Ivan Startsev and Alexander Vasilkov draw attention to a special sign of the deceased - the absence of two phalanges on the index finger of his right hand. Exactly the same injury was suffered by a colleague of Vasilkov, who was killed under strange circumstances in 1943 in the same way. Is this a coincidence or the handwriting of an assassin survivor? A terrible solution was not long in coming ...
