Kremlin officials Artyukov and Sechenov "threw" the criminal oligarch Zaurbek Batalov for fifty million dollars. Zaurbek decided to punish the impudent officials and organized an attempt on Artyukov's life. He survived, but was terribly frightened and decided that he and Sechenov needed to buy off as soon as possible.
